The present study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the training courses of the Sayyad Shirazi War Studies Board for third-year cadets of Imam Ali Officers’ University based on the Kirkpatrick model. In terms of purpose, the study is applied, and in terms of data collection, it is descriptive and survey-based, conducted cross-sectionally. The statistical population included 636 third-year cadets of Imam Ali Officers’ University in the second semester of the 2022–2023 academic year, from which 239 individuals were selected as a random sample using Cochran’s formula. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire designed to assess the effectiveness of the war studies training courses, whose validity was confirmed by subject-matter experts. Reliability was assessed through Cronbach’s alpha, which yielded coefficients of 0.91, 0.94, and 0.92 for the levels of reaction, learning, and behavior, respectively. The evaluation of these courses was carried out at three levels of the Kirkpatrick model, each analyzed using distinct methods. To assess the reaction and behavior levels, a t-test was employed, while a paired t-test was used for the learning level. The findings indicated a significant difference in cadets’ reaction (satisfaction) and behavior, with mean scores of 3.99 and 3.76, respectively. Moreover, paired t-test results revealed a statistically significant difference between the pre-test (2.08) and post-test (3.98) performance scores at a 95% confidence level.
