In today's competitive landscape, organizations play a critical role in the growth and development of society, and their success largely depends on the skills and capabilities of strategic managers. When competent managers take charge, organizations are more likely to achieve greater success. Designing and implementing a comprehensive competency model for strategic managers is one of the most effective ways to enhance management systems. This study aims to present a competency framework for strategic managers in the Etka organization. A mixed-method approach (qualitative and quantitative) was employed. In the qualitative phase, initial competency indicators were extracted from credible sources, followed by semi-structured interviews with 10 experts from the Etka organization to reach theoretical saturation. The interviews were analyzed using thematic analysis, and MAXQDA software was utilized to design a competency model encompassing five main themes (individual, organizational, operational/performance, leadership, and strategic) and 44 sub-themes. In the quantitative phase, the proposed model was evaluated by distributing questionnaires to 93 strategic managers within the organization. Data analysis was conducted using PLS software, and the results confirmed all primary and secondary themes of the competency model. This research examines various dimensions of managerial competencies, identifies key themes and sub-themes, validates the proposed model, and prioritizes competency indicators based on their impact on organizational performance, strategic significance, and development potential. The identified competencies include strategic, leadership, operational, organizational, and individual indicators.
