Government and Parliament Interaction in the Islamic Republic of Iran: a Strategic Model

Abstract

The interaction between the government and parliament in the Islamic Republic of Iran, challenged in some terms, is deemed as a strategic necessity for the national sovereign and progress. Reliance on a strategic model for interaction between the two bodies is a need to adopt an appropriate constructive approach towards the entities.  In the same vein, the current paper seeks to develop the model upon Grounded Theory. To do so, the researcher conducts interview with 24 experts in the same field for 68 hours and reviews the statements by the Supreme Leader. In sum up, he explores 1220 open codes by the combination of which 145 pivotal codes are adopted and after the merge, 42 selective codes are developed in such a way that the codes are classified in 6 themes including: cause, pivot, field, intervention, strategy and outcome. Finally, the relations between and among dimensions, constituents and indicators of the strategic model for government-parliament interaction is developed
