Abstract
The purpose of the present study was to validate the university social responsibility model with an emphasis on entrepreneurial orientation components. A mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative techniques, was employed for modeling. The statistical population in the qualitative phase consisted of 10 entrepreneurship experts and specialized faculty members from the Central Tehran Branch of Islamic Azad University. A snowball sampling method was used. In the quantitative phase, the population included 52 staff members of the Central Tehran Branch of Islamic Azad University, selected through cluster sampling. Data collection tools in the qualitative stage comprised systematic document review and semi-structured in-depth interviews, whose reliability was confirmed through inter-coder agreement. In the quantitative stage, interpretive structural modeling (ISM) was applied to categorize and level the constructs. Data analysis was conducted through three stages of coding (open, axial, and selective) using MAXQDA2020 software. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was employed to validate the relationships among the components. The findings indicated that university social responsibility encompasses five dimensions: (1) legal responsibility, (2) social responsibility, (3) economic responsibility, (4) ethical responsibility, and (5) environmental responsibility, covering a total of 12 components. The external model of university social responsibility, emphasizing entrepreneurial orientation, demonstrated a very high predictive quality. Ultimately, a framework was introduced to provide university managers and decision-makers with recommendations for facilitating the implementation of social responsibility and entrepreneurship programs within higher education institutions.
