Study of the Role of Domestic Media in Reducing the Effects and Consequences of Soft Media War

Abstract

This article aims to study the role of domestic media in reducing the effects and consequences of soft media war. The mixed research method includes qualitative and quantitative methods. In the qualitative part, the statistical population includes professors in the field of communication and media sciences, as well as national security at the level of Tehran universities, in the quantitative part, it includes managers of news agencies, including IRNA, ISNA, Fars, and Tasnim, etc., and editors and responsible managers. The secretaries of the services and the experienced journalists of the widely distributed newspapers have been in Tehran. The findings of the qualitative research show that the optimal use of domestic media from the advantage of being established inside the country, giving more importance to news analysis, paying more attention to lifestyle at the level of domestic media, etc., are suitable strategies for war. They are considered soft media.Quantitative research findings indicate that there is a significant relationship between media performance, environmental opportunities and environmental threats and the adoption of an appropriate strategy in the field of soft media warfare. In other words, by improving the performance of the domestic media and their awareness of opportunities and environmental threats, they have adopted more appropriate strategies in the field of soft media warfare and vice versa
