Testing the model of factors affecting the retention of talent in Shahid Sattari Aerial University of Science and Technology using structural equation modeling

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify and test the factors affecting the retention of scientific talents in Shahid Sattari Aerial University of Science and Technology. According to the purpose of this research, it is an applied research type, and in terms of the data collection method, it is a descriptive survey type. The community of the research is formed by the faculty of University , that 146 persons were selected using random sampling method as the sample. to collect data, cross - cultural adaptation questionnaire was used. The results of Cronbach's alpha coefficient and composite reliability confirm reliability, as well as content validity and convergent validity, indicating the appropriate validity of this questionnaire. For data analysis, spss 21 software was used to calculate the average standard deviation and perform a one-sample t-test, and pls3 was used to perform first and second order confirmatory factor analysis. The results of first- and second-order confirmatory factor analysis showed that all observable and latent variables have appropriate factor loading (above 0.70) on their corresponding latent variable and have the necessary usefulness to measure their latent variable. Next, the results showed that the scientific talents of University have the importance of maintaining the variable and its components include the values and culture of the university, the position and reputation of the university, working conditions, professional and personal development, teaching and learning atmosphere in the university, research atmosphere in the university, work environment, and work-life balance are evaluated at a favorable level.
