Abstract

The process of knowledge-based urban development literature process has made the use of scientometric methods and lexical analysis to summarize it inevitable. The purpose of this study is to provide a comprehensive picture of research in the field of knowledge-based urban development. This research is descriptive and applied in terms of purpose and type of use, which has been done using scientometric methods. The science web site was used to collect information and the data of 112 scientific documents from 2008 to 2021 were collected. To draw an omnipotent map, homogeneous analysis was used and to draw a knowledge tree, hierarchical clustering method was used. New phenomena in the field of knowledge-based urban development include smart city, sustainability and spatial quality. Also, the concepts of innovation, policy-making, governance, urban development, knowledge economy, efficiency and knowledge city are the most widely used terms in this field. The field of knowledge-based urban development research includes four main branches. And the focus of research is on knowledge-based clusters of growth and development. Accordingly, in Iran, due to the appropriate entry into this field, the priority of conducting research should be assigned to the cluster of knowledge-based development, especially in the field of governance and policy-making
