Design of a Procedural Model for Defense Complex Products Realization System Management

Abstract

All products evolve in a process from needs definition to disposal that means product lifecycle. Complex products have particular characteristics and have a particular development process. Defense product systems are good examples of complex products that need to very precise and disciplined product development process. World excellent organizations have a specific attention to their product realization process.
Main objective of this research is to evaluate and identify main factors in defense complex product realization process and then Design a procedural model.
In the first phase of this research, we use semi-constructed interview by 14 senior defense organization and project managers. In the last phase we use focus group of experts to finalize a procedural model.
The main Finding of this research is that 29 variables in 5 groups (Agreement Processes, Project-Enabling Processes, systems engineering, Project management and quality management factors) are effective and in the final we propose a procedural model for Iranian defense complex products realization system management
